The downtown Fort Lauderdale Library has free internet access along with a great collection of books, videos, DVD's, worldwide newspapers and more.

Yes, the Golden Arches has wi-fi at select locations, including the McD's along A1A on the Galt Mile. And we should also mention that the Dunkin Donuts on A1A (even closer to CRTE than McDonald's) now has free wi-fi.

Our local Broward County library branch has free but limited broadband internet access. The Galt Ocean Mile Reading Center is located right across the street from CRTE along the Galt Mile.
Broadband
Internet access at CRTE, for those so interested, is a personal choice of the homeowner. Arrangements for internet service and hi-speed broadband (or amost extinct dial-up), hardware and software configurations, and billing options are individual choices of each apartment owner and are negotiated directly with your vendor of choice.

Laptops and iPads have become more popular than desktop PC's. Shown is a laptop which easily connects to the internet via any number of technologies.
CRTE residents have many options for internet access -

Shown is a NetGear wirless router about 2" high and 8" wide. The router is used within an apartment to connect to your broadband modem and enables simultaneous use of multiple PC's, smartphones and iPads using a single wireless signal throughout your apartment.
If you wish to avoid arranging for your own internet access, the Broward County public library across the street on the Galt Ocean Mile has broadband access. Once you get a Broward Library card, access is free but is timed and often requires waiting in a queue. The staff at the library can assist you to arrange for access.
Or you can access local wi-fi hot spots (both free and fee) - use your search engine to locate those wi-fi hot spots in Broward County. Checkout the local McDonalds (on A1A along the Galt) and checkout any Starbuck's Coffee, Borders Books or Barnes and Noble bookstores.
IN-HOUSE CHANNEL 95
CRTE has an electronic newsletter transmitted throughout the building on Channel 95 of each TV. This Channel number will change in 2011 when digital cable via fiber optics lines is instituted by Comcast throughout Broward County.
